WRC: Poland, CER and Japan in Andreas Mikkelsen’s schedule

The Norwegian driver, after a disappointing performance in Monte Carlo and Croatia, reveals the rest of his 2024 season program on Hyundai i20 Hybrid Rally1.

Coming off a Rally Monte Carlo and a Croatia with results below expectations, Andreas Mikkelsen has announced his presence at the Rally Poland, the Central Europe Rally, and the Rally Japan.

The Norwegian driver, back at Hyundai Motorsport after some years in WRC2, is still searching for the right feeling with the Hyundai i20 rally1. The first two events of the season saw him finish in sixth place overall on both occasions.

“Poland is one of my favorite events – Mikkelsen tells DirtFish – I won one of my WRC victories on those roads in 2016. I really like those fast roads.”

Throughout his career, the Norwegian has competed in the Rally Poland six times, claiming a victory in 2016 with the Volkswagen Polo R WRC and three second places in 2014 and 2015 with VW, and in 2021 with the Škoda Fabia rally2 evo when the Polish event was part of the FIA ERC. As for the Central Europe Rally, Mikkelsen has only competed once, in the previous season finishing 23rd overall and 13th in WRC2, while in Japan, the former WRC2 champion has only raced once, finishing 7th overall and first among the WRC2 entrants last year.
