Luca Napolitano, the CEO of Lancia, expressed his excitement about Biasion’s involvement, highlighting the importance of the two-time World Rally Champion in the development of both the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and its road-going counterpart, both scheduled for launch next year.

Legendary rally driver Miki Biasion is set to make a significant return to the Lancia brand after more than 30 years. The former rally champion, who brought numerous victories to the Italian manufacturer, will now collaborate with Stellantis to develop the Lancia Ypsilon HF Rally4. This marks a pivotal moment in Lancia’s journey towards revitalization.

Luca Napolitano, the CEO of Lancia, expressed his excitement about Biasion’s involvement, highlighting the importance of the two-time World Rally Champion in the development of both the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and its road-going counterpart, both scheduled for launch next year. “Lancia is making another step forward in its rebirth journey. At the end of May, we previewed two significant new models that will be officially launched in 2025: the New Lancia Ypsilon HF, the high-performance version of the first car of the brand’s new era, and the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF, marking Lancia’s official return to the rally world, in line with its legendary sports history,” Napolitano stated.

He further added, “The natural ‘spokesperson’ for this dual return could only be Miki Biasion, the most successful Italian rally driver of all time, who helped make Lancia the most victorious brand in the history of this sport. His extensive experience with the Lancia Corse team will be crucial in developing both cars. This is the beginning of a new chapter in the brand’s renaissance, characterized by ambition, pragmatism, and humility, fully in line with the brand’s DNA.”

Biasion himself expressed his honor and enthusiasm for the role. “I am very honored to support the Lancia product team in fine-tuning the setup and handling of the Ypsilon HF, providing its drivers with a true sporty driving pleasure. I am also excited to work with the Stellantis Motorsport team to perfect the performance of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF: setup, braking, and engine calibration. I hope to inspire all the young drivers embarking on their journey with our Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF to become the professionals and champions of the future. The Lancia of victories and races is back, and I am more than happy to be a part of it.”

Biasion’s involvement is expected to bring invaluable expertise to the table, ensuring that the new Ypsilon HF and Ypsilon Rally4 HF not only honor Lancia’s storied rally heritage but also set new benchmarks in performance and driving enjoyment. As Lancia prepares to make a triumphant return to the rallying world, the collaboration with Biasion signals a promising and ambitious future for the iconic brand.
