The Russian driver returns to the European Rally Championship with the i20 Rally2.

The two-time European Champion in 2018 and 2020 seasons is back in his racing suit and helmet after two unfortunate experiences with the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 last year. The Russian driver, born in 1980, in the past season competed in the Rally di Roma Capitale finishing 30th overall and the Barum Rally where he retired at the beginning of the second day of the race due to a mechanical issue with his car.
After previously driving the Ford Fiesta R5 (2017 and 2018 winning the title), the Citroën C3 R5/Rally2 (2019, 2020 winning the title and 2021), and the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 last year, in this 2024, the Russian driver will discover the Hyundai i20 Rally2.
The 43-year-old muscovite will be at the start of the second round of the FIA ERC, which will take place in the Canary Islands from May 2nd to 4th. The Russian will drive for the first time in his career a Hyundai i20N Rally2 prepared by Hyundai Canarias, the main partner of this event. Last year, the local importer had already fielded a car for Czech driver Jan Černý.

Already a winner of this event three times, including last time in 2021 with a Citroën C3 Rally2, the former European champion enters the event with the clear intention of bringing home a prestigious result and fighting for the final podium.
