Less than fifteen days until the Rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio, scheduled for March 15th and 16th, marking the first round of the CIAR Sparco 2024.

First round of italian national rally championship os ready to go. Eleven special stages making up the race organized by O.S.E. Organization Sport Events, in collaboration with the Automobile Club of Lucca, totaling just over 100 timed kilometers. It starts Friday afternoon from the city of Lucca, from where the crews will head towards SS1 Pegnana.

Special stages description:

SS1 PEGNANA (7.41 Km): Initial section with a slight incline, generous road surface, suitable for trajectories. Some very fast sections require significant braking. The ascent is followed by a stretch of narrow, technical, and treacherous false flat.

SPS 2/SS 6/9 IL CIOCCO (2.02 Km): SPS 2 is the Power Stage, broadcast live on television. The stage is entirely within the Tenuta Il Ciocco, almost entirely uphill, medium/narrow with a spectacular turn at the end. This route will also be used as SHAKEDOWN and QUALIFYING STAGE.

SS 3 MONTECENERI (2.54 Km): The road surface is narrow with a very treacherous bottom, which does not forgive mistakes. The route is slightly uphill for almost its entirety. The stage ends immediately after a T-junction.

SS 4/11 CAREGGINE (19.60 Km): The longest special stage, one of the most appreciated. The initial section has a wide road surface where careful trajectory planning brings benefits in terms of timing. Subsequently, the route features a long and fast straight leading into a guided section, slightly uphill, until reaching a left turn that leads to a challenging, very technical descent. There will be three Virtual Chicanes on the route, instead of traditional Chicanes.

SS 5/8 RENAIO (14.32 Km):  Initial part with a slight incline, generous road surface, suitable for trajectories. Some very fast sections require significant braking. The ascent is followed by a narrow, technical, and treacherous false flat. The stage concludes with a technical descent, with many hairpin turns.

SS 7/10 PUGLIANELLA (11.01 Km): This section of road hosts the charity event “Parata del sogno” (Parade of Dreams). It starts with a gentle and guided ascent, with some sections on a false flat, rather fast, which become a steep and guided descent, ending with a spectacular left turn onto the Provincial Road. The last section is wide, fast, and guided, slightly downhill. A Virtual Chicane is present on the route.

Entries for the race will close on March 6th, with several big names already announced, from Andrea Crugnola (Citroen C3 rally2) to Giandomenico Basso (Toyota Yaris rally2), passing through Damiano De Tommaso (Citroen C3 rally2), and many others.
