91 crews ready to compete on the roads of Hustopeče

Everything is ready in Hustopeče, Czech Republic, for the 19th edition of the Agrotec Petronas Rally Hustopeče. With 94 entrants, this event marks the third round of the Czech Rally Championship and the sixth of the European Rally Trophy (ERT), promising thrilling competition on the region’s famous asphalt roads.

Organizers have designed a spectacular and challenging course, consisting of twelve timed sections covering a total of 160.60 kilometers. The rally will start on the afternoon of Friday, June 14, with three special stages, which will be repeated at sunset and into the night, totaling 70.52 kilometers. On Saturday, June 15, participants will face three special stages, each repeated twice, totaling around 90 kilometers of timed sections.

The level of competition will be exceptionally high, with the presence of top contenders in the championship. Dominik Střitesky, driving a Hankook-shod Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, will aim to replicate his victory from the previous round on the Krumlov tarmac. However, he will face formidable opponents such as multi-time national champion Jan Kopecky, Erik Cais, and Adam Brêzik, all in Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 cars, and Václav Pech in a Ford Focus RS WRC, who will not be counted towards the overall championship standings. Notably absent will be Filip Mares, who is competing in the Royal Rally of Scandinavia, a round of the FIA ERC.

Among the 23 rally2 cars entered, there will also be noteworthy outsiders like Martin Vlček in a Hyundai i20 Rally2, Aleš Jirâsek in a Skoda Fabia R5, and Véroslav Cvrček in a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, all ready to challenge the favorites.

Exciting battles are also expected in the 2WD category. Slovak driver Jan Kundlák, in a Peugeot 208 Rally4, will try to repeat his victory from the previous round but will face tough competition from René Dohnal, Dominik Novotný, and David Stefan. The rally is also valid for the Peugeot Trophy, with seven crews entered. Among them, the favorite is René Dohnal in a Peugeot 208 Rally4, last year’s ERT overall champion.

The Agrotec Petronas Rally Hustopeče promises to be an unmissable event for rally enthusiasts. With a mix of experienced drivers, new talents, and a challenging course that will test everyone’s skills, the Hustopeče asphalt is set to deliver emotions and spectacle. The competition is expected to be tight and exciting until the last kilometer, supported by a dedicated crowd of fans.
